We came to wine from an unusual starting point: ecology. Well into adulthood, with no family vineyards or cellar behind us, we discovered that it was possible to practice a kind of viticulture that doesn't destroy the environment. We fell for the old historic vineyards almost immediately — the ones at risk of being torn out for being uneconomical — with their distinctive shapes, their old grape varieties, and the stories of the countless hands that worked them and left their mark on those trunks and cordons.

Our approach in the cellar is minimalist. The philosophy rests on the complete absence of sulfites, selected yeasts, filtration, fining, and temperature control. We prefer to let the unique character of the grapes and the vineyards express itself fully in every bottle, accompanying the musts as they become wine and intervening as little as possible.

Our vision of wine goes beyond simple sensory pleasure. It's rooted in our social, ethical, and ecological beliefs. We believe wine can — and should — be a way to bring people together and create meaningful connections.

The wines of our land aren't considered noble wines, and that's something we choose to claim with pride. On the tables of these parts, wine is seen as a faithful companion, but rarely the sole star of the show.
