The Company
The Cerulli Irelli family has owned the estate located in the Pescara hills since the late 1800s. In the 1950s, Quintino began making wine from the grapes harvested in the estate's vineyards. A passion passed down from father to son, we are now in our fourth generation and continue to cultivate and produce quality wines. In the vineyards, which enjoy a unique exposure, between the sea, the Majella, and the Gran Sasso mountains, native Montepulciano d'Abruzzo and Pecorino grapes are grown using traditional organic methods. Merlot has also been added in recent years. The recently renovated cellar, located inside the ancient 14th-century convent, produces Montepulciano d'Abruzzo, Pecorino, and Cerasuolo DOC wines, as well as a single-varietal Merlot. All processes are carefully and meticulously coordinated by Rocco De Leonardis.
The estate includes two important historic buildings: the 11th-century Convent of San Panfilo Fuori Le Mura and the 16th-century De Sterlich Tower.
The entirely organic farm produces and sells local wines under the Tenuta Pescarina brand, and flour, extra virgin olive oil, pasta, and other seasonal products under the Convento San Panfilo brand.
