Il Nido del Vento

We are a small family-run agricultural reality: me, my partner and our two daughters aged 11 and two years.

We live a few years in Roveta between the towns of Lastra a Signa and Scandicci, where we are trying to recreate the size of the small farm farmer fundamentally based on production for family consumption and the concept of least impact.

The estate consists of 400 square meters of garden, all handmade "spade and hoe!" The only activities that we conduct on a wider scale and that guarantees us a minimum income is beekeeping.We raise about 50 beehives, which we keep in two apiaries settled: the first 20 hives close to home, where we produce excellent honey for years monoflora heather, bramble, honeydew and ivy and the other 30 hives mountains of Pistoia to make crops more important acacia and chestnut. Such activities are conducted according to totally organically.

We arrive to produce an annual average of 15 tonnes of honey that we sell directly to local farmers markets as "The Haystack" and "The Fierucola" or of fair trade groups (GAS) in the area.From this year we would like to open it outside our experience was started to farm, hosting school groups and not just to visit the farm.
