The oil mill Cooperative Sun Drop Molfetta Ltd., formed in 1963 by 12 growers Molfettesi, today represents one of the most important Apulian olive landmarks.It currently has about 400 members who each year give an average of 50,000 q.li of olives used to produce an average of 10,000 q.li of high quality extra virgin olive oil.The cultivated varieties are the "Corato" and "ogliarola Bari" hand-picked directly from the tree.The extraction system adopted is that cold by percolation and centrifugation.The result is the extra virgin marketed under the trademarks "of Sun Drop" and "Green Label" both available in conventional, organic versions, or DOP certified (Terra di Bari).The oil is golden yellow with green tones slightly hazy and smell opens fruity, rich in vegetal hints of fresh leaf and balsamic notes.The taste is harmonious and balanced, characterized by tones of green tomato and artichoke with almond aftertaste.And 'excellent raw on vegetable appetizers, fish carpaccio, steamed vegetables, delicate soups and fish and vegetables.Recently, in order to enhance the local products, the oil mill has started production of pickles with use of vegetables grown in the area north of Bari in extra virgin olive oil of own production.The cooperative guarantees both the production process the product with certification ISO 9001: 2000 and UNI EN ISO 22005: 2008, which guarantees the traceability of the chain.Our oil was awarded, also of prestigious awards such as the "SOL D'ORO 2008" and "the ORCIOLO D'ORO 2008" (with regard to the biological).For more information, check the website or www.gocciadisole.it www.gocciadisole.com; Furthermore, on www.uTube.com you can view some videos related to our cooperative and to the production method adopted; you can type "sun drop" in the toolbar and start the search.
