Podere Montisi

Since 2012 we have restored the old farm Montisi with its lands and cultivate 6 hectares of arable land in ancient grains and olive trees and 6 hectares of forest that are located around the house (entirely powered by renewable energy). Our company cultivates a remaining wilderness for 30 years following methods of cultivation in respect of the land, favoring the rhythms of nature. We practice green manure intercropping with grasses, legumes and cruciferous and triennial rotations in order to preserve soil structure.

We produce extra virgin olive oil, old varieties of cereals and their derivatives (flour and bread), medicinal plants, old fruit jams, eggs and vegetables, honey.

The entire territory of enterprises surveyed are in the lists of areas network NATURA 2000 (SIC, ANPIL) as a Site of Community Interest, which contributes significantly to the maintenance of biodiversity in the region where it is located, as determined by the Executive Council of the Community European. The area is a natural habitat for protected species of flora and fauna.
