The Company
Ramaddini Winery and its vineyards are witness to the history of people dedicated to wine production and wine culture. Our vineyards are in the south of Sicily between the highland around Noto – UNESCO HERITAGE SITE- and the seaside village of Marzamemi. The cellar comes from the passion and the love for their land of Carlo Scollo and Francesco Ristuccia. Ramaddini’s vineyards stretch over 20 hectares of calcareous land and follow a regime of integrated agriculture, respecting nature and the seasonal climate changes in eastern Sicily. Extensive olive groves provide the olives from which we obtain our very fine extra-virgin olive oil. Ramaddini looking to protect the environment by using natural farming techniques, without the use of pesticides and chemical fertilizers and since 2018 harvest is certified organic BIO. Talking about wine for Ramaddini winery means, above all, talking about Sicily and the wonderful fruits of this magnificent land.
Starting from 2003 when the vines were planted, the quality of Ramaddini wines has been recognised and appreciated in all the surrounding area. We produce different type of wine used mostly indigenous or native grapes like catarratto, grillo, and, above all, nero d’avola – the most important grape variety of this area of Sicily- and with which we create the “Patrono Riserva Nero d’Avola Doc Noto”, Ramaddini’s most famous wine. All our labels have won many awards in the most prestigious Italian and international wine fairs, and Ramaddini wines appear in the renowned Guides as, for example, Gambero Rosso, GoWine, Annuario dei migliori vini italiani (Luca Maroni), Slowine, GuidaVinid’Italia, Vinibuoni d’Italia and Vitae.
The winery inherits the great wine-making tradition of south-eastern Sicily. It is located inside a restored "wine warehouse". A museum -an enchanting location – where it is still possible to admire the pipeline once used to transport the wine to the small port of Marzamemi, and also the “carratuna” huge barrels used to age the wine.
Valeria, our host, will guide you around the cellar and to visit our museum, and, about all, she will guide you in the wine tasting and make you discover our wines.
In each of our wines there is history, in each flavour a story, in each sip a step nearer to the origins of these unique wines.

Certified Chain Project
