Le mandorle siciliane sono molto apprezzate per la loro dolcezza e per l’aroma intenso che le caratterizza.
In un passato non troppo lontano, venivano consumate dai lavoratori nelle campagne. Le mandorle infatti forniscono un elevato apporto energetico al nostro organismo senza però appesantirlo. In questo modo i nostri nonni, che in una giornata lavorativa arrivavano a consumare anche 5000 calorie, potevano ricaricarsi mentre continuavano a lavorare. Anche le donne in gravidanza traevano grande giovamento dal consumo di mandorle e non avevano bisogno di integratori di alcun tipo.
Il nostro procedimento di pelatura è semplice e naturale: immergiamo le mandorle sgusciate in acqua calda e le priviamo della sottile pellicina che le ricopre.
