Le arance rosse Tarocco sono tra le varietá più tipiche e conosciute dell’isola, essendo originarie della stessa Sicilia. Sono caratterizzate da una polpa con striature rosse, dovute all’elevata presenza di antocianine. La colorazione rossa diventa più intensa maggiore è l’escursione termica della zona in cui sono coltivate. Oggi, questa varietà cresce in una zona ben definita nelle province di Catania, Ragusa e Siracusa. Questa zona è molto favorevole per la sua escursione termale, per la presenza dell’Etna e la vicinanza del mare, oltre che ad avere un terreno molto fertile. Queste caratteristiche ci permettono di avere un prodotto unico, che viene riconosciuto con il marchio “Arancia Rossa di Sicilia IGP“.
