L'arancio: è un albero sempre verde, con chioma cupuliforme e fiori bianchi odorosi (zagara). E' coltivato nelle regioni meridionali dove il clima è tale da consentirne lo sviluppo.
Fioritura: primaverile più o meno prolungata.
Stato fisico: cristallizza spontaneamente alcuni mesi dopo il raccolto, con cristalli variabili.
Odore: medio intenso, ricorda il profumo fragrante dei fiori di zagara.
