Description
Questa arancia è stata sviluppata presso un monastero in Brasile nel 1820 (oggi diffusissimo in Italia) a partire da una singola mutazione. Tale mutazione dà vita ad una seconda arancia, che cresce come un gemello ma in uno spazio più ristretto. Dall’esterno, il frutto è facilmente riconoscibile dal tipico Ombelico sito nella parte bassa del frutto.
I Navel sono arance tipicamente da tavola, con polpa polposa e con contenuti in succo medio, ma dal profumo intenso e sapori eccezionali, dolci e prive di semi, tali da essere molto richiesti dai consumatori.
I Navel sono disponibili a partire dalla 1° decade di Novembre, sono pieni di vitamina C e sono una delle varietà più gustose.
