Il Tarocco Gallo è una varietà dell’arancia Tarocco, la “regina” per antonomasia tra le arance a polpa pigmentata. E’ un’interessante varietà poiché garantisce produttività e pezzatura. Di forma ovoidale, con buccia di colore rosso, di medio spessore e lievemente papillata. Mediamente facile da sbucciare, il frutto ha la polpa di colore rosso acceso, elevata succosità ed è privo di semi. Il tarocco gallo matura tra dicembre e febbraio.

Recognizable by the slightly rough and reddish peel (Conferred thanks to the high temperature range between day and night during the ripening period, a condition typical of the microclimate of the Plain of Catania) and by the red pigmentation of the pulp, rich in anthocyanins (They include many varieties of tarocco, moro and sanguinello, with availability from mid-December to mid-May). With a stronger flavor, they are the classic large, sweet and juicy red pulp orange, with thick peel, excellent for fresh consumption or for the preparation of many typical recipes.
