Rough and thick zest, with a light green or yellow color (In the ripening phase, available from the beginning of November until April). Oval or almost round in shape, with a slight protuberance at the peduncle and slightly pointed on the opposite side, with a particularly thick albedo (White internal layer that separates the zest from the pulp). Periodo di maturazione: da Ottobre ad Aprile Il limone in Sicilia è uno degli agrumi più diffusi, la produzione di limoni infatti copre circa il 50% della produzione totale, per questo motivo la Sicilia si posiziona nel mercato come il più importante produttore del Mediterraneo. Il limone Primofiore di Sicilia è il più classico fra i limoni invernali, tanto succo, gusto deciso caratterizzato da acidità elevata, forma allungata e pezzatura medio-grande. Le piante sono caratterizzate da zagara, utilizzata anche per la preparazione di cosmetici e di alcuni dolci.
